Write to us about the guides

Use the form for questions and corrections about this independent guide. We do not sell wine, take orders, or recommend a named retailer. You must be 18 or older to send a message.

Use the form on this page to ask about the guides, to send a correction, or to query something we published. That is the whole purpose of the inbox. It is not a bottle shop counter and it will not pretend to be one.

Wine Dealers does not hold liquor for sale. We cannot take an order, quote a delivered case, put your name on a mailing list for parcels, or tell a courier to come on Friday. If you want to buy wine, return to the buying guide and choose a licensed merchant, cellar door or auctioneer yourself.

What to write about

Useful messages look like this:

  • A factual error in a guide — a misstated labelling rule, a broken explanation of GIs, a sentence that reads as if we were ranking someone.
  • A question about how to use a guide: you are preparing for a first auction and want to know which section to read twice.
  • A request to clarify that we do not sell wine, if a third party has implied otherwise.

Less useful messages look like this:

  • “Which shop should I use?” — we will not name a dealer as a recommendation.
  • “What is the price of…?” — we do not publish prices.
  • “Deliver two dozen to…” — we cannot.
  • Payment card numbers, scanned licences, or other documents we do not need. Do not send them.

If your question is really a dispute with a seller — a missing carton, a refused delivery, a wine you believe is faulty — write to that seller first. We are not a party to the sale and we cannot compel a refund.

If your question is about your own drinking, skip the form. DrinkWise and a health professional are the right doors. We are not a counselling service.

Age and tone

You must be 18 or older to use the form. The checkbox is there because the rest of the site is about a licensed trade. If you are under 18, do not send a message asking how to obtain alcohol.

Write as you would to an editor. Short is fine. Specific is better. Links to the page you mean will save a round of guessing. We do not need your life story, and we do not need a photo of a bottle unless it is necessary to show a labelling question — and even then, a clear description of the words on the label is usually enough.

What happens to the message

The form sends the fields you complete — name, email, message, and the age confirmation — to the editorial inbox through FormSubmit. The privacy page explains that path in more detail. We use the email to reply if a reply is warranted. We do not use the form to build a marketing list, and we do not sell the contents.

There is no live chat, no phone sales desk, and no after-hours hotline for cellar emergencies. If you do not hear back immediately, the message is still not an order sitting in a warehouse.

Other paths

If you represent a regulator or a rights holder and need a different channel, say so in the first line of the message. If you represent a retailer looking for a listing, the answer is already on the about page: we do not sell recommended-dealer slots.

If you arrived here because you typed the domain and expected a shop, we are sorry for the mismatch. The guides are still free to use. The form is still not a checkout.

Thank you for writing only when you have something the guides can honestly help with — and for keeping alcohol, and conversations about it, in adult hands.
